It has been said that “sharp fixes everything.” It never ceases to amaze me how wood can transform with sharp tools… What follows is a series of photos that illustrates this transformation. Here are the particulars:Hard mapleVeritas bevel up smootherVERY sharp blade set to just under .001” Pic 1 – Straight off the planer. It’s flat, but the very small ridges left by the planer blades give it a matte finish. Pic 2 – A couple of passes and the ridges start to disappear.
