My hobby of choice is woodworking, it has fostered numerous memories for my family and friends, and neighborhood children.
I am the neighborhood go to guy for everything from snake removal to building backyard bars and everything in between. Helping others is my greatest source of joy, teaching, and passing on knowledge. Knowing something I made could be held, used or shared by future generations is heart warming to me. Maybe one day a great granddaughter might use bookshelves I have made, and the note I put on the bottom will provide a connection thru the generations.
No job or request is too small, some can be too big but I can always try. My favorite thing to do in my shop is teach thru doing in my shop with others, and watch the confidence grow with each new experience.
