Good evening fellow lumber jocks,
this is my first blog. i have posted a few projects and have looked at almost every single project on here (there is a lot) just to get some inspiration/ideas of what i could make. I think about 3 years ago now i stumbled upon a video posted by the Wood Whisperer, i was hooked at that point and wanted to buy every tool i could think of right off the bat (just ask my wife :)). In these last 3 years i have learnt alot more than i thought i could (learn from your mistakes), i have made cutting boards, boxes, bird houses, card holders, segmented beer steins, I’m sure there is more but it is 12am and i am not thinking that clearly. well enough with the introduction, i need your Help!! my younger brother passed on Thursday morning and i have volunteered to make his Urn. Mom and me went down to Windsor plywood and picked out some 4/4 Zebra wood and Ebony. I don’t have a lathe so i will be making a box, if any of you have any suggestions or tips and tricks on how to make an Urn i would very much appreciate it.
thanks for taking the time to read this.
have a good evening.

Hi Ryan…sorry for your loss…there is something poetic though about placing his ashes in an urn you’ve made…his ashes in your embracing hands.
Mitered corner with through keys in contrasting wood perhaps. I would keep things simple, both for appearance sake and not to make this a stressfull build during this grieving time.

All the best
