I am in a really really really REALLY good mood :D

Been working for one of my friends the last year (nothing spectacular, doing stuff on the computer from home, he works for a web publishing company) and he just told me he got approval to move me up from what is essentially freelancing (paid-per-entry kinda setup) to salary starting in the next pay period (April 1st, and I already told him if this is an elaborate practical joke I WILL murder him with fire) :D Twice the money, plus (after the typical trial period) health benefits and 401k (i’ve never had a 401k before, I feel all growded uppy now lol!)

The neat thing is I’m going to have to learn some coding languages like php and more html, so for the first time in my life, I’ll actually be working in a field that I originally went to college for LOL!!

PLUS I get to pick up my new table saw this week :D PLUS now I don’t get depressed when I look at my want list, cuz I’ll actually be able to AFFORD some new goodies each month!

Well, after I sink some money into getting my truck fixed up. That’ll be awesome in itself. Just think, it will actually shift into third gear when its supposed to now! And I can stop riding around on that spare tire!

Money may not buy happiness, but it WILL buy the things that make me happy :D

Like tools, beer, and strippers (hey, I may be shallow and superficial, but at least I’m too lazy to lie about it :D)

And in the correct order too…
Well done… all good things come to he who waits..and to he who works for them as well.

Congratulations! I’m actually interviewing for a new position within the company I work for next week. I don’t think there will be any more money in it but the work should be more interesting. Best of luck to you!

Its true, hard work and perseverence pays off. But it also helps when you and your boss like to play the same internet spaceship games and blow stuff up together… :D

That is really, really great. You are a good guy and deserve to be treated with respect.

Well started on my new full time job today, have to say getting up at 8am after two years of getting up at 1pm (im wayyy too used to third shift schedules!) was an adventure. The fact that my commute is only about 4 feet to the computer helps :)

I already like the stuff I’m doing alot better than before, and I’m soooo looking forward to that first salary check.

Plus I get to make the final payment on my new table saw and pick that up

AND while taking apart my benchtop saw for ebay (don’t think I’ll bother keepin it, everything that I could use a second table saw for like a dedicated dado machine would be better off on the new contractor saw) I realized that the steel table it was mounted on (its one of those folding steel auxiliary tables the saw drops into, with a bigger T-square style fence and laminated extension table) would be perfect as a base for another project (I’ll prolly make a seperate blog about that once I get the idea straight in my head), basically it’ll be a router table/face frame assembly table combo, and it’ll be able to fold up nice and flat for storage, and give me a 2.5’ x 4’ surface to work on when opened, and I can use the nice solid rip fence to mount the router fence on. I’ll prolly do a blog and post pics this weekend.
