After 6 years of a basement shop, the sawdust got to be too much for SWBMTs asthma. I finally got this 600 sf stand alone built after a couple of years of non-woodworking. I now have plenty of room to expand, and my wife doesn’t have to worry about the sawdust wafting up through the HVAC system. I had the shell erected by a local barn builder, an electrician friend hooked up the wiring, and I did everything else. There is still lots to do, and there probably will be for a long time.

Some white paint will make it feel much bigger and brighter – easier to see what you are doing.

Looks great – when I move to a bigger house, all I expect to get for a shop is a 360sf garage, compared to the 200 sf basement I have now.

I am moving in three months and I can not wait to have a shop with space like yours.

Congratulations and post more photos as things progress.

What a great space!
I like all the natural light too!
You are a lucky man!

Nice!
I agree with the white paint. That would be a good investment, and do it BEFORE you start hanging things on the walls.

Nice looking shop. I am super jealous of the climate control.

You are one lucky fella. Love those doors that can be opened on a nice summer day and you have lots of room to expand. Warning – you never have enough room. (-:

Love the shop location and walkway entrance. Literally a ‘separated from busy life’ kind of feel when I approach. It would be hard for me to leave.
