I started woodworking about 18 years ago but got interested in turning bowls in the past 8 years. I especially enjoy turning more complicted segmented bowls that are challenging to build. My favorite wood to work with is purple heart. My wife's favorites are bloodwood and ebony.

segmented bowlThis was my first attempt at an open segmented bowl. The woods I used are ash, walnut and paduk and the finish is polished water varnish. It measures 7 inches tall and is 81/2 inches in diameter. I will be showing some of my other projects in the near future.

Very nice bowl, more people would see it if you put it in the projects section, you can add it there by going to your drop down menu at the top right hand side of this page “my lumberjocks” and clicking”new project”

You will find Lumberjocks helpful, supportive, inspiring and informative.

Ask a question and you will receive an answer or two or three or quite a few more.
