Cherry Blanket chest moldings lid batons and initial oil coat

Here are a some more progress pics.

Had to make a molding planing board for my home made quarter rounds

Here is some flattening and thicknessing of the top

Here is some work on fitting the lid batons I found some nice brass screws which I though would look good

Here are a shot with a test coat of oil
I may have to redo depending on how my moldings

I will post again when the moldings are properly fitted and the lid is attached – got some nice hinges from Hortons Brass..

That chest looks fantastic. I’ve never worked with cherry much. I’d really like to try something really large like the size your chest.

beautiful! I love cherry, both the looks and working with it. What oil did you use?
