Drying burls

I saw on YouTube that some suggested wrapping freshly cuts burls in plastic wrap. Won’t they rot? Any thoughts.

Thanks in advance! Just getting into wood turning.

I have only dryed a few burls. I use them in turnings. I rough turn them then put them in a brown paper bag for 2 to 3 months.

Thanks Tom! I recently harvested a large cherry burl and have cut it up into over 25 pieces. Have realized that I don’t have the patience to wait for them to dry. Lol

I wonder if small pieces can handle the microwave?
