Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Thank you to all for the warm welcome, I’m sure I will really like this site. Not that anyone asked, but here is a brief back ground, I’ll try to make it as painless as possible. I was born & brought up in NY, about 70 miles from NYC on the beautiful Hudson River. I worked at IBM for 30 years and also had my own business for 19 years. My wife & I owned and operated a pretty successful Art Gallery/Custom Framing Shop which meant I would do my usual hours for the MAN and then head to the real world (my business ). I finally was able to pursue this full time and couldn’t have been happier, it was the late ‘80s and it seemed whatever we put on the walls for display was sold in no time. We used length molding from some great suppliers, and I also had the opportunity to custom make some profiles for people who knew the value of such a purchase. Anyway, one frigid day in NY I suggested to my wife that we should sell the place and head south, and wasting no time we did just that. What A mistake. I used to have a very nice shop & now have to work in my garage, needless to say we will be headed back to NY as soon as I can sell my house, we both agree that the weather should never be the deciding factor for a move. SORRY FOR THE LONG STORY, thanks for listening.
