Any single rail table saw fence recommendations for a G0690? - 23 replies

Hi all and thanks in advance. I’m about to start an outfeed/assembly table for my G0690 and the the fence that’s on there is a dual rail. Because of this and the way the fence sits, I won’t be able to push the table right up to the the saw. Do any of you have recommendations for a fence that only rides on a single rail in th...

Stabilizing systems? - 12 replies

Hi everyone, i’m thinking of getting a stabilizing system for a pecan tree i just acquired. Most of the wood looks decent, but there are sections with bug holes in it. I’ve looked around on the forums, and it seems some people are stabilizing their own blanks, but I’ve yet to see anyone mention what system they use. Any s...

Hi everyone. New to turning and woodworking in general. Just got my first wood lathe but am familiar with metal lathes through work. My question is about one of the parts that came with it. So the wife said go ahead an get a table saw…. I’ve narrowed it down to two saws unless a good used one actually hows up on the local CL. Being a novice/weekend warrior, how much overkill would the 1023 be for me? I like the size and the built in router table as I was planning on building one into the 0833 anyways. After reading ...

Miter saw station - 5 replies

Question on a miter saw station…. I have 16’ of wall I’m going to convert in to one. I’m thinking a 4’ section to one side, then 4” for where the saw sits and then an 8’ section for the last side. With the saw centered in it’s section, this will give me 6’ to one side of the blade and 10&#...

Pro's and Con's of 2x4 frame vs plywood miter saw station / work bench - 29 replies

Good afternoon, I’m in to process of designing a miter saw station and I see a lot of people make them out of plywood and a lot out of a 2×4 frame. Could anyone tell me the pro’s/con’s of each? It seems to me that the 2×4 frame would be stronger. I was planning on doing mine from 2×4’s then sheathing th...
