Location: Aurora, CO

33 years old. Done construction most of my life. Decided to take up woodworking after losing my grandfather and moving to Colorado to help my grandmother out. Less than a month after my move I cut my left hand off on a table saw. Well not clean off but through all 5 bones in the hand and hanging by a little bit of skin! (Have the pictures to show if interested PM me and I’ll be happy to share my story) The first hospital wanted to amputate and I refused so thankfully the second hospital was able to help me out and 13.5 hours in surgery later I have my hand back! Not much movement or feeling but I’m blessed none the less! I’m also blessed with 3 beautiful kids! 15y/o son, 13y/o daughter, and 3 y/o son! I love life to the fullest and love learning new skill in the shop! I’m fairly new to “woodworking” but pick up quick and willing to share tips and techniques as well as learn from y’all so please share!

-- Believe it or not I cut my hand off in November and was back in the shop the day I got home!

Wow, sorry to hear about the scary accident. Glad they save the hand for you, and sounds like you will have much rehab to contend with. The Good Lord was watching out for you.

A man who can almost lose a hand, and still feel gratefull is a lucky man with the right attitude…how you approach life tells the tale.
