About 2 weeks ago my father in law past away. He was a very good wood worker. He wanted to pass his wood working knowledge experiences along to future generations of our family. Cancer cut that short. He left me and my son his routing table, jig saw, miter saw, wood lathe, work bench and various books and hand tools. i think this is a good start. My goal is to become as good as he was and in the process try and get my son interested in workking (he’s 15), which will be a project in itself.

Step 1 in this journey is to make room in the garage for all these cool power tools. I have about a 10×10 section in the garage to try and make this fit. This area also includes my home gym and various reloading equipment. I also want to add a table saw, planer and jointer to my shop in the future.

Wish me luck!!!!

Sorry for your loss. I hope you and your son and wife can learn and enjoy woodworking together.
With your limited space, you may want to consider putting all your machines and cabinets on wheels. Lots of great shops to get inspiration from here. Welcome to LumberJocks!

Sorry to hear of your loss, great start in the tool area and just start on things that may be interesting to your son
