I just upgraded to a new Grizzly G0899 table saw, from a rickety old craftsman contractor that bit me a few weeks ago (goy lucky, only a couple of bone chips and a pile of stitches) and converted it to 230V. When I fired it up for the first time it took about 4 seconds to get up to full rpm and bogged down right away when I tried to rip an 18” piece of pine. I used 10 3 wire (I am only using the 2 hots and the ground). My multi meter is showing 236v (116 on one prong and 120 on the other). I have re arranged the motor wiring according to the manual. the breaker in my box is a 60 amp, over kill but the previous owner had a stove in the shop so I just used that. I am plugged into the receptacle directly with no extension cords or anything like that. this is my first attempt at anything Like this an am sure (or really hoping) that I overlooked a simple/fundamental step. Any help is appreciated.
