After 30+ years as a corporate organizational psychologist, I cashed in my chips and retired . . . . sort'a. I'm back in graduate school working on a degree in counseling, something I've wanted to do for a long time. In my corporate days, my love of woodworking lost out to the green-backs that came from my day job.

With the rigors of school winding down, I'm finally getting a chance to tackle that long list of projects that have been on the back burner. Recently, my wife insisted that I re-build my "dream shop" that I've always wanted (said I was always more peaceful in the "good ole' days when I was working in the shop). That's the good news. The bad news . . . . she gave me half the space to do it. But I'm having fun with the challenge of creating an efficient workspace in a smaller "man cave." I plan to post some photos as the shop project comes near to completion.

I'm glad I found this site. I don't know many people with whom I can have an intelligent conversation about woodworking. I'm looking forward to getting to know the folks on this site and learning from your experience as I re-engage with my passion for creating furniture and art in wood. I've already gotten some good advice on a band saw purchase I'm planning to make in the next few days.

Welcome. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.
