Planet knives for powermatic 15 - 18 replies

Hi. I just bought 3brand new knives for my powermatic 15 from amazon. They have edges on both sides for double the life. They are absolute garbage. Easily nicked and pretty expensive. At first I thought it was my knive set up but after re-setting them to pretty near perfect the knives nicked again and left an unpleasant look on my board. I am re...

Powermatic 15 issue - 20 replies

Hello everyone, I just did a maintenance on my powermatic 15 planer. I also replaced the blades with 3 new ones. I put a board through it and it’s leaving gouge marks in the wood the entire length of the board. Same look you get when there are dings in the blades. Again… the blades are brand new and I did recheck them.

Square sled fence - 2 replies

I just built my first table saw crosscut sled. Pretty happy with the results. This may be a pretty dumb question but I’m wondering about the fence accuracy. I used the 5 cut method(with lots of practice) and I’m getting an off millimeter reading of -.126. (Negative point 126). Is that ok or should I go further with it. Thank you.

Hello, I am planning on making kitchen cabinets for my personal use. I will be using black birch for the doors, drawers(raised panel) and face frames and Baltic birch for the boxes. I have been reading conflicting experiences about what final finish would be best for cabinet application. Water based seems more of a natural look and less odor w...

Voids and cracks epoxy??? - 17 replies

Hey gang!! I have a beautiful slab of oak that I want to make into a bench. Unfortunately it has some dry rot in a couple of places. A simple filler won’t do it.
