Cigar Box Guitar #3: Finishing Touches
I applied Danish Oil to both the box and the neck/fretboard before I assembled the guitar, but after I glued a few loose corners of the paper wrapper. After finishing, I began assembly. I inserted the neck through the box. Next, I drilled holes for the 1/4 inch jack and two potentiometers or pots. I installed the electronics and then closed the box. I drilled and countersunk two brass screws to hold the neck and box top firnly in place. I did not glue the box at this time as I was not overly confident that my soldering skills were perfect.
