I am in school for veterinary medicine. I hope that woodworking will be something I can do as one of my times away from my work. I am fascinated by wood and the amazing things that everyone can do with it. I am looking to learn more in my spare time and this community has been a wonderful way for me to do that.
I am looking for any suggestions or criticism possible as I would love to learn from the professionals.
My dad was a professional painter and was quite good at what he did, landing him some pretty high end jobs. Because of that I got to be around construction as a younger kid. I also grew up in the country and my dad remodeled the house that we purchased. I got to see him do quite a lot of improvements which got me interested in the same type of thing; I love to be able to fix and work on a lot of different things. It keeps you going when you always have something new to learn about and it is something completely different. I love veterinary medicine, but it's great to do something not related at all.
I would love to get more into the finer woodwork, though I'm not sure what exactly I want to do long term, so that's where the journey shall begin I guess :) Thank you all for all your help

Thank you guys.
@Ken: I am already addicted, have been since I found this site how ever many months ago, it’s been a while, finally figured I should join though :)
I am also working on something right now which should hopefully get glued up tomorrow for me to post under projects. I will definitely be looking for any criticism available. So far, I am happy with how it is turning out though :)

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself almost a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
