Hickory Dining Room Trestle Table #3: Fabricate Trestle Ends

After getting the table top to the point of sanding/refining, I moved over the the joinery on the trestle ends and the stretchers. Refining the mortises and tenons took quite awhile, and I’m not quite finished yet. My mortising machine didn’t have enough throat depth to handle the deep rails, so I had to do the drillpress and chisel method for the mortises for the slats: Here are the walnut slats, cut to size and tenoned: Here I’ve cut the mortises & tenons on the rails.
