Location: SouthEast Vermont

Grew up in upstate NY, great place to be from or retire to. Always had desire to build and tinker, something in my genes I guess.

Computer techie by trade, but have always supplemented my income through various carpentry work, mostly on home renovations. I’ve owned and renovated 3 houses, now on #4.

1st was an 1840’s gothic style post and beam. There is a reason they are called old farm houses, they were built by farmers not carpenters. From this experience I became quite proficient with the term scribing.

2nd was an log home built by hippies. Great view of Mt. Monandock in NH, but hindsight being what it is should have cut the place up for fire wood.

3rd was interesting 1960 ranch – lots of fun and very pleased with the way it turned out.

#4 Is now in the works - 1970's ranch classic 60's decorating style and a few years of deferred maintenance. Why is it carpenters in the North East do not comprehend the basic concept of water? Is really that hard to understand that it flows down hill and when allowed to come in contact with wood for a long time the wood will rot?

The screen name comes for an expression that is uttered on occasion during eventful moments.

-- Quality: There is hardly anything in the world that some men cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price are this man’s lawful prey.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
