Well… took me a few years, but now my “woodshop” is being built!
The carpenters are finished and I have to insulate it and finish it internally myself.

Its a two car garage, 470sqf internally where 340sqf is set a side for my use.
The garage area is used as storage for lawnmower, bikes, car tires, Christmas decorations etc etc…
There is electricity and water from the house.
3 long windows on the North and South side
1 large window on the East side
Insulated in the floor, walls and ceiling.
Engineered wood flooring and white glazed knot free pine cladded walls

The Garage door is situated on the North side.
Entering the shop at the east side, there will be an sink on your right hand side with a bench going all the way across, for sharpening, storage of bits and pieces etc etc.

Then I am bit unsure what to do with the rest.. I was maybe thinking of partinioning of third room or just leaving it a open L shaped room :)

The large window facing East, into the garden, where we are building a Natural Pool/pond and a Japanese inspired garden.. I intend to do most of my work in front of it, looking out at the seasons and all the animal and insect life we are trying to attract to the garden.

The Shop is a “Hybrid”, predominately hand tools, with a few power tools from the Bosch Professional line: Miter Saw, Plunge Cut Saw, Jigsaw, Dust extractor, a 12 volt Drill and a Tormek T8 sharpener. I bought all the Bosch tools, to do all the finish work inside our new house.. so instead of selling, it I might as well keep it out there.

The rest will be a planes, saws, chisels etc from LN and LV.
And few bits and bobs I have purchased on Ebay, North Bros Braces, Miller Falls Drills and braces.

The rooms are:
Main room: 19×12
Side room: 13×9
Garage: 13×9
Height inside: 9ft

Very nice space! Please tell us a little about the roofing material. I see shingles like that sometimes online but have never seen them in real life. are they cement, ceramic, metal or other? How are they attached? Are they as durable/wind proof as they appear to be?

They are glazed/burned tiles..

They are attached with a “storm clips” and a screw, each weighting 10lbs.

They are rated for 50 years.. and should survive a tropical storm according to the spec sheets and the number of screws we used!!

Have your say...
