Cutting timber to size

LtoR- Walnut, Maple, Cherry for the butchers block & Poplar for the base

Base assembly – Sorry forgot to take photos of turning on the Shopsmith

Farrow & Ball paint: Downpipe, Satin polyurethane varnish on the drawer

Oak drawer tilt guide & drawer runners

Base done

Cut to 2”x2”


Glue & paint roller



Maple cut to 4” strips



Add some Walnut

More clamping

Next some Cherry

Belt sander

Glue on the Cherry

Final clamping

Lots of sanding – 80, 120 then 240 grit

4 coats of mineral oil – 6hrs between coats

Mineral oil with beeswax – Ratio:4 parts mineral oil to 1 part beeswax
