A New Beginning

About 8 months ago I began my new journey into woodworking. I had dabbled in the past, but last year (2017) I hit the ground running. Today I have a small, very small, but growing business. During these past few months I have expanded to woodturning, CNC, laser, and just regular woodworking. While there are a few tools that I still need, my shop is 95% stocked. Now comes the task of coming up with new projects that I can sell and that will make money.

In addition to my shop & store, I am also planning on starting a YouTube Channel. Showing others how to make something from a scrap of wood and helping them avoid some of the heartache and mistakes that others have made in the past is the primary goal of the channel.

Finally, it is also my intent to combine my “Trek4PTSD” PTSD awareness efforts with my woodworking business in order to fund my hikes and bring this disorder to the forefront.

Hope to see you all in the workshop and on the trail.

I will keep you all updated.

Thank you so much Steve. I hope to use my woodworking business to supplement my second career and retirement pay once I retire from the Marine Corps at the end of the year.

Thank you once again.

Best of luck with the woodworking business. Maybe I’ll make some extra cash in my retired years. Right now the rat race is too demanding. And also best of luck with your PTSD efforts.

Best of luck in your venture. And thanks for your work with Vets. I’m a Vet but I was lucky in that my two enlistments were very peaceful. So thankfully no PTSD but I have other health issues that our government won’t acknowledge that are concerning to me. The affects of toxic chemicals (Fort McClellan) can show up years later. But that’s ancient history so I just don’t worry a bout it. It is what it is.

I’m retired now and trying to start a small woodworking business like you. Or maybe its just trying to make my hobby pay off once in a while. I would love to hear about how you market stuff.
