no previous part Part 1 of Band saw blade series no next part

Has anyone sharpened a 3 pitch 1/2 -3/4 wide bandsaw blade.
I thought this was a wast of time until i tried it. works great

unplug saw, blow all sawdust off bandsaw and around it before starting.

use dremmel and 3/16-1/4 dia x 1/2 long grinding stone.
mark blade with sharpie or tape to show starting spot.

this method woorks great on a dull blade. (not a blade that has hit a nail or horeshoe)
the area you will be sharpening is the hook area not the top angle of the tooth.

with blade in saw, stand in front of saw, hold dremmel horizontal and place grinding stone in hook area and with light presure up move stone left and right 1/4 in.

repeat all the way around blade. a 14” saw will take about 15 minutes.

If the set has been damaged throw it in the trash.

Have a sharp day

Good thinking! I was just pondering whether or not to try sharpening mine the other day.
