I"m happily married with an amazing 2 year old daughter.
My wife and I recently purchased our first house that came with a nice space for a workshop in the basement. I needed a new hobby and I've always had a good deal of respect for woodworking. My grandfather ran an antique repair business and my father essentially did his apprenticeship with him, (and then married the boss' daughter!). I grew up with refinishing projects always going on in the house but never took a genuine interest until now.
My time outside of the workshop is spent as a technician working with assembly equipment, electronics and pneumatics. I love working with my hands, but I'd much rather be working with wood.
I've been inspired by the amazing projects posted by you guys, and it makes me want to learn more about this great hobby and eventually share my successes as well.
Thanks!

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.
To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.
Please enjoy your membership.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
