Morris Chair - 5 replies

I have seen Morris Chairs with the side rails the same height as the front and lower than the front. Not sure which I like best. Have seen them with round rails, square rails and side panels, I like the panel idea. Curved arms, straight arms, or a tapered arm. I like the tapered, it is flat about 6 inches back from the front then angles dow...

Poplar - 18 replies

How many LJ’s like Poplar? How about for furniture? Just got a lot of it free. Different sizes and widths. Adding it up I could build a Morris Chair out of the Poplar. Built a toolbox out of it. Was kind of practice on mitering, dovetails and all. It has held up well for two years. I stained the box but may just oil the Chai...

Have an old Royal Upright Piano, it cannot be tuned and repairs are way too much. I do not even play piano. As for antique value the bench is worth more. It is in good shape I am keeping the bench. Some of the trim boards are vaneered, the main parts of the case appear to be solid, stained pieces. I know the wires are under a lot of tensio...
