Bookcase Design Challenge - Configurable Shelves w/ French Cleats
I came up with my design when thinking of ways to make the shelves flexible in configuration and placement. I like the more modern “cubby-hole” look of shelving, so that different sized items can be easily stored and seen. (Not just books) In the end, I decided on a common method for hanging cabinets- the french cleat. This allows for flexibility in how the shelves are configured. I then combined this method of shelving within a frame, to create the overall bookcase.
