    Howdy Klause.

Thanks for the kind words. I have learned my mistake the hard way. The table hasn't cracked yet but the bathroom cabinet doors have. They have to be rebuilt eventually. I need to do a bit of learning. Fortunately, those doors belong to the small bathroom. The rework won't be a big job and I have many more to do right the first time through.

Nice looking table Mark and the finish is just beautiful .
I am a little concerned about expansion and contraction of the top but I am likely missing something in the construction method .

    Hi Mark,
I started in business for myself as a woodworker in 1977, it has been quite a journey.
I have a feeling when we think we no longer make mistakes our eyesight must be getting really bad.
As long as I have been building furniture I would think I should be able to stop looking for creative ways
to cover up mistakes. Usually a mistake will cause you to do or add something that makes your project more interesting in the end.

By the way thank you for the nice note recently, it is always encouraging.
    Have a blessed evening, Todd

Just yesterday I glued the back of a band saw box to the front. Once the glue had set, I saw my mistake. I can fix it but mistake will happen. Lack of concentration is my biggest problem. I've been woodworking so long I just take it for granted that I know what I am doing until something like this sobers me up. I like geekwoodworker's motto. It's the mark of a good craftsman.

Hey Mark. I have the same issues with my work. I have been a wood worker for about 25+ years and I still make those mistakes that I feel I could have avoided. .

My motto is: Its not how many mistakes I make but how well I can cover them up.

Keep up the great work and keep posting (even the mistakes).

Thanks for the comments Mark. It is small and cozy. You hit the nail on the head, I have a vision for it to be truly one of a kind! As I have grown older I have found I don't need "big, status quo nor keeping' up with the Joneses".
This place is low stress. It is almost a mile to the next nearest house and sits on 30 acres. I love it.

Ethan - Those are very kind words. Thank you. I do enjoy giving people a leg up when I can. In this awesome website, I have met a lot of folk who are the same way. I am truly enjoying being their student.

When I saw you user handle, I had to read your profile to decide if you play the violin, or, just like to tinker with things.

Now that I've read it, I think, maybe, it's a little of both.
