Cutting the flutes for the batmobile toy car proved to be not quite as simple or easy as I would like it to be, so I tried a different way – this time with a carving gouge or chisel.
I have a few inherited from my grandfather some years ago – they are not quite as sturdy as wood turning gouges.
The smaller one is about 6mm across, with a radius of 12mm or so, and the other one is about 15mm across, and I’m guessing the radius would be about 19mm or 3/4 inch.
Also decided that using a hole saw instead of a fly cutter is a much better idea to cut out the wheel arches.
For one then, don’t have to clamp the work piece, and a lot better because I am cutting a 3/4 hole.
