Slant Top Desk Build Update - Drawer Fitting/Inlay

My last Blog post finished with the completion of the drawer box joinery. Fitting the drawers has been something of a pain. The drawers are so large that I can’t simply hang them off my bench top to plane them, so I’m attempting the fit them before I glue them up. I think I can get them pretty close and finish with a few light plane passes after they are glued. While I have them still apart. I’ve added the inlay decoration to the drawer fronts. I can’t complete the cockbeading until the boxes are glued together, but I can can cut the channels on the long edges of the drawers. This is anxious stuff. If I screw it up, there’s no way to fix it cleanly, so I’ll have to start over with the drawer. Here’s where I am now:
