I’m having issues I remember reading someone else’s blog about a couple months ago. He was saying he was about ready to unjoin because of it. Now, I’m nowhere near the point of wanting to bail on my Beloved Buddies. Here’s the thing:
Page Unresponsive- over and over.
“Application Error – Oops!” It took me about a half-dozen attempts to post my latest Project, over a six-hour period. I don’t yet know what’s gonna happen when I click “Post this entry.” Ergo, I must make sure, before I do, to C&P it to Wordpad, in case I have to spend the next six hours trying to get this message out.
I have LJ notifications in my email, among which are comments on my latest. When I click the link, I get “Application Error Oops!”. I got a notification that I’ve been Buddied (by Twirlygirl). The link took me to her page, and I was able to cruise around her Gallery, and even post comments, without incident.
This has been a very brief description of what’s going on in the Dungeon as it relates to trying to carry on my activities as a LJ.
Am I the only one? Is anyone else dealing with this kind of nonsense? Please to share, if you can get through the “Application Error – Oops!” BS.
I PMd Cricket about this. And, every time one gets the “Application Error – Oops!,” the rest of the thing says an email has automatically been send, describing the problem. To no avail, I guess. This has been going on for at least a month now.

Yep I’ve had some of the same issues Mark. Thanks for bringing it to Crickets attention.

Hmmm my lap top froze up while reading this post…
Cricket posted earlier that the site had to be rebooted and they were looking into a time stamp discrepancy. I occassionally get the Application Error message, too. Patience, Grasshopper.

It posted on the first try. Then, I went back to the New Buddy notification, Buddied Twirlygirl, and the page went all Unresponsive when I tried to send a PM. Now, before clicking “post this comment,” I went back to the other tab, and was able to PM my New Buddy. It must have gone unresponsive (how many times?), and finally got its head wrapped around what I was trying to do. Of course, I had to C&P that message to Wordpad, in case it locked up. As I will do with this comment. I could sit here all day, doing this. I won’t. I got stuff to do. But this is important to me. LJs has become a HUGE thing in my life.

Lew, I’m sooooo pleased that you picked this up. Now I don’t need to C&P it to you.
Candy, patience my arse. There’s steam coming out of my ears. And, I suspect it wasn’t your laptop that froze up. If it happens again (and it will) open another tab and see if you can navigate around with it. If you can, it’s not your machine. It’s the site.
This C&Ping everything and saving to Wordpad, before clicking “post” or “send” is really getting annoying.

Don’t want to be arguementative, Mark. It was the laptop (this time), overheated using it without the vented lift base. I do concur about the annoyingness of the Error message.

I once worked for a company that was in the throes of a big layoff. We were all wondering WHO would be the first ones to go.

One of the other supervisors suggested this … “If you come in here tomorrow morning, and your key will not open your office door, it’s probably you.”

So Mark, maybe this is Cricket’s way of telling you…

Mark, I have had a lot of problems posting, especially while downloading the photos it freezes, needing to refresh and start over again ,patience is not one of my good points and this is the main reason I don’t post much any more. Even when posting comments on projects I get “page not available” and I spit the dummy and hope I don’t offend for not commenting. Still a great site with lots of friendly and informative members, so I will persevere and enjoy. Hey JoeinGa, I was fired by that Canadian Lumberjack who run the show previously and couldn’t get on for about 3 months odd, didn’t get told why but it started when I posted some turning I did with Corian and made some replies to members comments. Maybe being from Aus. didn’t help.

I always just chalked it up to my dial-up. Now I know that I’m not alone!
