I had my system for about a year now and it’s worked great. During that year I’ve emptied the bag several times and at one point I replaced the original collection bag with one I bought from Amazon. I just emptied the bag a few days ago this time I took the 5 micron cloth bag down, I turned it inside out and cleaned it with my shop vacuum. When I put it everything back together and turned it on the bags inflated but was really soft to the touch were before when turned on they got real hard. I checked for leaks but dident fined any, so I’m wondering if I damaged the 5 micron filter bag by vacuuming it?

Bags normally get a buildup on the inside which actually improved the filtering. You cleaned up the bag and now no coating. It will gradually build up.
You can get a canister filter which works better and better protects you. Your bag collects chips but let’s hazardous size particles out to harm you.
Have your say...
