I am a self-taught woodworker with about 15 years of practice, since about the age of 8 years old. I am waiting to go active duty with the US Navy in the Nuclear Field next year (March 2014). I am currently a carpenter for a summer camp in New York.

My woodworking at home is limited to the tools I collected while growing up, and I typically only build things as needed for my parent's house. Aside from woodworking, I am also a jack-of-all-trades in all kinds of home maintenance.

At work at the camp I design most of my projects in Auto-Cad and then construct them in the very nice wood shop they have. Old-fashioned timber framing is a theme at the camp in both building architecture and almost everything else.

Aside from the projects I build for the camp, I keep my projects limited to what my parents need around their house. That way they pay for the materials and I don't accumulate anything for when I go active duty. It's a long lasting hobby that I hope to build space for in my future house and hopefully make a small business out of it. Now that I have access to the wood shop at camp even when I'm off, I will probably try to buy some nice wood and experiment on some new, smaller projects.
