« Part 1: The living room tables Part I Part 2 of Filling in time..... The re-do's series no next part

Somewhere in May 2015

Re-do of the orphaned end table. Used every day but ignored until now.

Fun table to make. Needed it for the end of the couch. The top had a few blemishes by the time I got done. Not my best or favorite. Once again, I just could not get the top sanded well.

As a follow up to the coffee table clean up I plowed directly into this one.
The top was sanded to 220 and areas were selected for ‘jewel encrusting’. Using a trim router with an inlay bit I created jewel spots. An area in the center with a small knot hole, areax along the cherry inlay where a break had occurred.

A nest of three.

Squid Eye!

A morning light view.

The top was sanded down to 800 grit, oiled with Watco’s natural and a Waterlox gloss rubbing varnish.

Wow, and I’m still making boxes… Thanks for this.

Both of those table tops are very nice.
I am a huge fan of mesquite and turquoise and you have reinforced my appreciation of the combo.
