3D printing for the Woodshop - 7 replies

How many here have their own 3D printer to make up jigs, tools, brackets, etc. If you do have one what type of quality should I look for? I don’t want to get a cheap one that can only use cheap filament that will produce low quality plastic pieces that break. Let me know your experiences and what printers you have used or like/don’t like.

Would this work with my DC? - 2 replies

I got an older 2HP Grizzly dust collector from my grandpa (at least 15 years old, maybe more) it does not have a model number on it. The problem is it has a 4 3/4 inlet cover and just a single dust collection port. I am looking to get a new inlet cover that is 6” along with a new Y-Inlet that will give me two 4” lines and will connect to t...

Name for dust collector intake?! - 10 replies

My Grizzly dust collector has just 1 intake port and I am looking for what the name is for the adapter to make it a 2 port? I have searched every name I can think of and just straight up typed in dust collector accessories and went page by page. I am looking for one that will replace my current single port to a dual port. Or a fitting that...

Moving soon, how should I protect my lumber? - 14 replies

How do you all protect your lumber when moving? My circumstances are that I am in the military and more than likely will have to have the movers pack my wood shop up along with the lumber I have collected. I don’t know much about how the goods will be stored except that it will be water tight and maybe climate controlled. How would you all...

Where should I place my Air Filter? - 22 replies

I recently got the WEN 3 Speed Remote control air filtration system Model 3410. I was wondering the best placement for the system. I know it depends on the size and layout of your shop so I attached the below crappy drawing. I am thinking of placing it above the workbench. Which there is enough room between the wall and the fluorescent light for...

Delta T3 fence not moving right... - 14 replies

The clip that goes over the back guide rail seems to be very tight and when sliding it will shave off the coating on the rail. The fence seems to only be able to be adjusted left and right and then up/town in being able to ensure the fence is perpendicular to the table saw surface. When I move the fence along the rails it twists and won’t kee...

Homemade air filter? Worth it? - 13 replies

I am sure having one is better than nothing. But is buying one better than building one? I have a 2 car garage along with a older 2HP Grizzly dust collector. I always wear a dust mask even when using my dust collector or vacuum. I would like to get to where I don’t have to wear a mask all the time, after I make cuts. Would building a ho...

Delta T3 fence install help - 8 replies

I have a Grizzly G1023 table saw and got a much needed fence for it. I need some help or suggestions on how to drill new holes and lay them out right. I am thinking that the new holes will be drilled at the same level as the old ones in the rails. I haven’t ever laid out drill holes before and don’t know the best way to make sure the front an...

Tool ID Help - 14 replies

I inherited a bunch of tools from my Grandpa and some of them I have no idea what they are used for and they don’t have model or part numbers on them. Except for one and all it says is Veritas. Also, I got 3 (what I assume are whetstones… How do I tell what grit they are? All three feel pretty much the same. The...

American Machine Tools Drill Press Model 1405 can’t find much on it - 4 replies

I think this company went out of business or got bought out. I recently was given the AMT-1405 and was wondering if anyone has had an AMT or even used this one before and what their opinions are. I don’t want to spend too much time trying fix it up if it is a piece of junk. Also been having a hard time finding a manual.

Installing Delta T3 fence question - 5 replies

So I have the Grizzly G1022 table saw and got the front rail lined it up and of course got it lined up for the first bolt that would attach to the table saw top itself and then the second hole is maybe 2mm off from being able to reach the second hole on the table saw top. Do I just drill that hole out on my fence and just have a giant hole? ...

Table Saw dust collection (opinions) - 4 replies

So my G1022 does not have any dust collection so I need to build some in. The question I have is what is the most cost effective way to connect up my 4” hose to my 3/4” MDF that I am using to build out the dust collection “box”. I purchased a PVC 90 degree bend and a toilet bowl flange to seat into the MDF and then “glue” the PVC to that flan...

Is this a good price for a Biesemeyer fence? - 18 replies

$209 from Lowe’s plus I will get a 10% military discount. It seems like it is the lower end model? This or the Delta T2 fence? Looking at it it seems like a great deal and isn’t one of those deals where it is just the fence and no railings etc. Opinions? https://m.lowes.com/pd/BIESEMEYER-Fence-System/50383556?cm_mmc=SCE_PLA_ONLY-_-To...
