Cool! Thanks for the explanation. I m no good at music, but I appreciate listening to it. Do you plan to build yourself a guitar? I ve always had a great admiration for people who build musical instruments… it takes wood working to a whole new level

I do guitar repair for my day job so I get alot of fun out of that. I don't really have an interest to build one but I have considered doing things like an electric cello or soemthing of the sort. I feel as though if I built a guitar it'd probably burn me out on doing my repairs and such. I have built a violin (from a kit not from scratch) and that was pretty fun. If I were to build the electric cello thing I'd definitely do it from scratch.

Why do you pick lemongrass? :) Welcome to LJ s…

Haha! Thanks for the welcome Pete.

My name is a combination of alot of things. I play guitar in the style of Leo Kottke and such. And I have sort of developed this pseudo bluegrass/newgrass/folk/noise rock sort of style. I asked one of my friends what he thought it sounded like, and his reply was "If you let a bunch of bluegrass go sour, that'd be it" and so I thought, lemons are sour, therefore I will call this style lemongrass. So I began calling it that.

Come a few years later, a person who had seen me play live recognized me and shouted "Hey! You're that guy, the lemongrass picker!" and I liked the sound of it.

Plus I really enjoy alot of Asian cuisine which sometimes uses lemongrass (well, alot at times). So it all just fit together nicely.
