I have finally retired from 30 years of Naval service, I’m a happy camper. I now have a 760 sp ft wood shop to work in compared to a two car garage for which I only had half to work in (the wife would not give up her half..LOL), but now 760 sp ft >>>> YAHOO!!!!!

Mark, it sure looks like you do need some more space so I will give you permission to tell your wife to park the car outside. :)

I have often said that I am glad we added a third garage to our basement that I converted into my shop. If I had to try and get my wife to park her car outside so that I could have a larger shop I can tell you that, without a doubt, I would be outside before her car would be.

Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed taking a tour of your shop.

Sounds like you REALLY need to pay particular attention to, and come up with as many space saving ideas as you can!

FWIW, that is a great setup in such a small space!

Hi Mark – Small shop space really makes you have to think about order of operation and material handling. Nice pen work. It sounds like you really enjoy what you do. On a different note, thanks for your service, I’m from a service oriented family. All great-grandfathers (Civil War), both grandfathers (Homegard WWI), father (Navy CB’s WWII), me (Army Oct ‘67 thru Nov ‘73) and my oldest son (Army 2 combat deployments in Iraq and currently in combat in Afghanistan hope to be home next month. Stay safe.

Well my friend, if you don the dress Navy whites and ask nicely, I would definately give you the ENTIRE garage to use as a workshop.

Easy fix: Just build her a new garage :)
