I was making a sideboard cabinet as a gift for my wife. I couldnt decide what kind of top to put on it (to match her tastes) so I figured I would make a temporary top and give it to her.. then let her make the choice.

It came out better than expected.

Because I thought it was temporary, I didn’t spend enough time sanding to ensure all the glue was off so stain is a little uneven, but she says she didn’t notice till I pointed it out.

I put a 45 degree bevel on the bottom which kind of makes the grooves on the backside of the hardwood flooring disappear unless you get down low and look at the end.

Waiting on the knobs to come in from Amazon to finish this project.
