Due to lack of charging of the batteries of my Ryobi miter saw I found myself using a handsaw frequently. It took a few times to get the hang of it and after that I realized it didn’t take a horrible amount of time to cut through 2xs. One thing that nagged me was the push stroke so, after reading a few forum posts on Japanese saws, I decided to purchase a Ryoba Noko Giri.
Also in need of a miter guage for my table saw I picked up an Incra. I read a few posts of folk that used the Miter Express and really liked it so I picked up that as well.

Japanese saws are excellent tools, extremely handy and so many uses
I do not have an Incra, should be cause they are great also
-- Norman - I never never make a mistake, I just change the design.
