Born:) 1953-65yrs., grew up in Pahokee Fl., started woodworking at 14 and self taught draftsman. My drafting table gets a work out all the time. At 15 I helped build a three bedroom home (for 2 bucks an hour) from foundation up and used reclaimed cypress wood from an old project school with my carpenter teacher and boss. At 16 learned how to weld and 18 build steel buildings. At 19 learned how to repair and rebuild engines. Joined the USAF as a weapons mechanic/demolition 6 years then changed jobs and learned special heavy diesel vehicle mechanics. After 3 wars I retired at 20 years with the USAF and worked for Boeing Aircraft Sub-company in Saudi Arabia as a shop maintenance foreman for 7 years supporting AWACS Aircraft and started to learn wood chip carving. Worked for Sears Tools/ marketing for 3 years and bought a lot of wood tools/supplies, now working for Wal-Mart Gardens 10 years now for "wood" money. I lived and studied Korean woodworking for 5 years in South Korea while in the USAF, 1 year in Thailand, 3 months in Honduras, Germany, Spain, Japan, Philippines, England and Scotland . Want to continue studies in Oriental woodworking from many countries all the time and build projects to sell when I retire at 65.
(My retirement hobby.)

I am a "Jack" of many trades but never a master. When I want to learn how to do something I read the technical books and just do it. It's just how I like to learn new things and apply what I learned. I don't like paying for anyone to do something I can do myself. I finished remodeling my 1973 three bedroom brick home and garage wood shop back in 2001, now I really need to build a "book cabinet" for my son and my drafting room some day soon for my library (books are stacking up). My Korean wife of 38 years says I have to many books. I enjoy others woodworking projects and advice. It's good to see what other minds create. We get good information that way that helps us all enjoy the pleasure of woodworking.
I have designed a Tri-Hull Canoe with solar panels attached for my fishing/camping trips but have not started building it yet. I must do that soon, the fish are calling me. I enjoy veggie gardening and grow my own.( Hate paying store prices) I just finished designing and building a wooden I-Pad stand for my wife and two camera stands for my vehicles.
I have a Tear Drop Trailer "Turtle Ship Transformer" on the drafting board that is in design stage for my camping/canoe trailer for two (should be a fun project). This will be my "Bucket List" building project after all the designs/material lists/cost sheets are made. Then I can hook up my wife's Jeep Sahara Wrangler and take some good vacations around America for a change. Can hardly wait to see all your projects and learn from you all.
