Holiday project.
After my 700 km drive home from work my wife asked if there was any chance of making a tissue box holder for a good friends birthday which is due soon, after been away from my workshop for more than 7 weeks it would be good to be in my workshop cutting wood.
I have 12 day break from work so I better finish the jewelry box I have been blogging about and get on with the tissue box holder. With getting into the projects I was back in my little part of heaven.
The wife forgot to mention what size the tissue box holder was to be so what the hell lets make big and small.
If you followed my jewelry box blog you will recognize some of the designs of the marquetry on these boxes as when I was cutting the designs I added in extra veneer for this reason. with making the most of my time this is what I gave to the wife, a small box for our friend and a spare box that would give me brownie points in the bank to call upon some time.
I filled the grain pores on the boxes with shellac and talc but the applied 2 coats of polyurethane over the top as time was against me otherwise these boxes would have been good to practice the art of french polishing on.
Thanks for spending time reading my entry.
