Location: Urbana, IL

I first got experience in the construction industry when I was a teenager and have always loved designing and making things. The design is as satisfying as building the project to me.

I went from helping other carpenters build houses when I was 17-22, to doing my own 5 room addition a few years back; my projects have become smaller as my woodworking skills develop.

I am somewhat of a "jack of all trades" type of guy, who likes to tinker with all aspects of construction, but I definetly feel like I am in my element in my shop making saw dust, especially early on weekend mornings. Most of my projects have been made from two trees: a large black walnut and a cherry tree. I have made dozens of end grain cutting boards, useful and customized built in furniture for my recent remodel; as of late, I have enjoyed repairing and refinishing antiques.

Thank you gentlemen for your welcoming comments. I need to spend a little time on how to use this great forum and get a picture etc. I am getting excited about my end grain cutting board project. The planning and design stage is as satisfying to me as making something.

Well, another year has rolled by. It must have been a really fun year because it seems like yesterday when I congratulated you on being a LJ for 2 years. Congratulations on your 3rd anniversary at Lumber Jocks. Thanks for helping make LJ a great place to visit and happy anniversary!
