1920s Disston D8 - Flea Market find - 3 replies

I have several pieces of hard maple that have fine small holes in them. They have to be from bugs. Before i use these is there a way i can be sure there is nothing still alive? I’m not sure how the wood was dried so i’m not sure if everything is dead.
