I just realized as I was starting to look for some bed hardware on that some of you might not be aware of Rockler having a Professional division.

There is a seperate catalog and a different web site. Maybe Martin can setup a link to the Pro site and still get his fees.

On the bed hardware that I was looking at there is a $4.50 price reduction on a $13.99 item.

I don’t remember how I became aware of the prosite, nor do I remember how I signed up for it. But you do get different customer numbers and my catalog for the prosite comes to a company name.

Thanks, Karson.

Maybe you heard about it because you received the catalog at your business address. I tried the link and was going to register. My locator code and zip combo did not work. I read a blurb at the bottom of the page stating, “If you did not receive a Rockler Professional catalog, please visit our standard site.” I think they may have found you vs the other way around.

If you find out how to get the professional version, please let us know. Maybe I should list my home as a business address somehow.

In the fly page of the catalog they state “In order to receive professional pricing and/or open a RocklerPro account, you must be a business, accredited educational institution or government agency and verify status through appropiate documentation (resale certificate, contractor license, etc)

Phone order 1-800-233-9359 I don’t know if thats the same number for regular rockler. but try them to register.

Hmm… well I’ve got a business and a tax ID number to prove it! (well… ok, Dad does… I’m gonna make that Call, if there is a way to help out the LJ site as well…

Of course there was an earlier Wood Whisperer post about using a certain (or local?) hardware supplier and getting even better discounts on hinges, knobs, shelf brackets, and that type of thing. Gonna have to go look for that.

I have been using Rockler Pro for years. I have found as a rule of thumb that you save about 10% on supplies, but no discount on tools. I use the “regular” catalog if I am showing a customer a product so I can order out of the pro catalog.

It seems that I did have to provide some proof as a legitimate business to open an account.

One of my favorite hardware suppliers is Richelieu, they totaly rock in designs and style. Hafele has nice hardware, but I have never bought anything from them because they have been very difficult to deal with.
