Today is my 6th year anniversary on Lumberjocks.

Things have sure gotten bigger from the early days.

Back then you had lots of time to view the posts on the pulse page. We sent messages back and forth on our blogs and projects because we didn’t have messaging.

Nobody thought about blocking anyone, we were all great cyber friends. Some of those friends have been lucky enough to get a visit from me.

I’ve thought about a blog series of the LumberJock shops I’ve visited. I might do that some day.

I’ve not visited as many as MsDebbie in her days of traveling around in her midnight visits to the unsuspecting shop owners but it was great.

Martin has developed a great site that has brought people from all over the world to share a common passion. And I thank him for it.

I also want to thank MsDebbie for all of her passion in keeping us informed with her newsletters and search topics. Thanks Debbie.

I also want to mention that I miss those Lumberjocks that were part of the banter on these pages, but, have been taken from us in body and sole but not in our hearts. We miss you and your daily part of our lives. May you rest in peace and may your families be ever blessed with the items that you made and shared with them and us.

Congratulation on your 6th anniversary, Karson. You are one of the few active members who have been around longer than me.

You are so right…. we have lost some fine folks along the way.

Amen, Karson. A lot of the older folks seem to have faded into the background, but it may be that there are just so many members posting, alot gets lost in the shuffle. Congrats for sticking around, and thanks for all of your post.

Congrats on the 6th years! You definitely are one of the core members of the site. You are my “go to” person when I want to know how someone is doing these days :)

I, too, miss those who have passed away. Dear friends.

Lovely words Karson, time passes quickly as you reach a certain age and we lose some great characters along the way, but their presence lives on in all the projects we post and all the chat and banter.
Congratulations for your 6th year at being the de facto “grand master” here …...oh Great Karnak.
It is still a place for presentations of skills, information, education as well as a place for LJ family harmony and fun, albeit that our numbers have swollen.
Many more Karson.

Congratulations, Karson. I am glad for all you have done for the site and for individual LJs.
I remember having a “conversation” with Mot, during the very early days about the sense of community we had and what would happen when the first of our little town passed on.
Well, the real world intruded with the loss of Oscorner, and the site literally exploded, going from less than a thousand for quite a long time, to the current 43+ thousand. It’s a whole ‘nother animal now, but there is still a sense of home about it, even if you don’t always know your neighbors.

As long as we have members of your quality, as a person and as a woodworker, I’m pretty sure things will work out just fine. Thank you, sir.

If Martin is the web designer, Debbie the librarian—-you sir are the heart and soul of this place! I am still an LJ large in part due to you and good people like you! I have actually been super inactive in the last two months because of life’s craziness—-but when I saw this in my email I had to sign on and say thanks for being such a great member…

Someday I would like to get east…and meet you in person!

Congratulations and a belated thank you for introducing me to LJs. Your 04/05/09 article, “Sanding Block Class – Mason Dixon WW” popped up when I was researching sanding blocks last year. I used your instructions and started checking LJs out on a regular basis, eventually joining. I owe you one (actually two, LJ and the sanding blocks)—thanks again!
