Karson, how do you find these things? One could by the shop sell it empty and keep the tools the building alone should bring the 25k. and you come out ahead on the tools, at least another 3-4K.

I was looking for veneering press and there is one of them in the basement also. and that was how I found the hit. There is also a house in town for 15K. a little fixer-up-er.

Iowa is a long way from here. LOL. Sounds like a great deal, though.

hmmm… sell my house, dump an extra $25 into fixing in up, and bank the remaining $200,000!

heck of a commute for the rest of the family though. Sound like a near-ghost town.

Well Sorry Guys and Gals.

I just got an e-mail from the webmaster of the reality company and they state the property is SOLD;

Greetings from Lost Nation, Iowa!! I am the webmaster for the website and found all of the recent visitors from your blog entry. Thanks for advertising for us!! However, the building and contents have already been sold—someone local who is in the carpentry/custom furniture business.

To give you a little background, Lost Nation is a small Iowa rural community—497 population at the last census. Those of us who were born and raised here (but who have college degrees and have even taught at the college level) love the community and are fighting hard not to let it die as many small towns have done. The people are very friendly, most are family oriented, and have a good work ethic.

You might want to visit my other site at if anyone is interested in a trip to the “Heartland” to see why some of us love it!

Thanks again for advertising this for us. If we have any other properties such as this in the future, we will be sure to contact you.

Just as I was ready to break into the 401K money… It’s a short commute (relative to what Scott would have had) from Omaha.

What a great find Karson. Too bad it is already sold. No way you could find anything that cheap in California. If you find any more of those bargins, post them for us.

A double garage can run that price here without the land.
