The back really has a cool shape to it as the chair is meant to follow the shape of the body. Unfortunately, when I was cutting up the stock, I cut it to its final width of 3”. I did not add an extra half inch as I had before due to the boards shifting while gluing. I was pretty careful to remove as little as possible on the jointer and bandsaw so the final width ended up being 2 and 7/8” which should really be no problem. I later cut the angle at which it ties into the other legs and I’ll probably end up just going with what looks best for the top.
