My interest in woodworking began in the mid 1960's in high school shop class where I was introduced the wonder of power tools and was able to make some great projects. The interest has stayed with me through the years and as I was able I acquired tools and set up shop, first in the basement then in an out-building. My plan was to someday retire to my "dream shop".

I retired in 2005 and my "dream shop" is a work in progress. It is located in the back yard, is insulated, heated and has ample electrical power available. It has occurred to me that this will be a lifelong project as I am always looking for ideas to upgrade and improve my working environment. I spend most of my winters in the shop. In the summer I like being outside and spend less time woodworking although there is almost always a project in progress.

I've watched the Lumberjock site for several years and now look forward to being an active participant. What a great Web-Site!
