    Hi Junji

I have been thinking about how to make a Go game (碁) board. I was hoping to inlay the lines instead of using marker but I am afraid that may not be possible. Do you have any ideas or suggestions on how to do the lines for the board? I wanted to use cherry for the board and maple for the lines.

    Thanks
    Jess

Jungi, I just ran across you and the frame for your daughters certificate. I checked out the projects and found a very proud father. Any one can have a child, but it takes a special person to be a father. I also visited your music on my space. Very good. You are a very exceptional person. I am very glad to make your acquaintance. Thanks for your kind words Junji. If you look back at my blog, Todd has posted some great info about Nakashima. When I completed the design, I had no idea who Nakashima was. My shop teacher had a book with some of his work in it and I just began modeling my design off of his (similar to a bench seen here http://www.design.cmu.edu/files/0929fancybench_450x270dv.jpg ) I will let you know when I have the opportunity to update with more images. As for the butterflies, I'm glad someone noticed them. There are 10 butterflies on the seat (both walnut and an ebony like wood-the name escapes me), a large ebony butterfly on the leg purely for decoration, and I even tried to continue the butterfly shape throughout the back supports with the large pine butterfly shape in the center and two ebony butterflies on the end. There are a number of intricacies about the design such as this that I will describe in more detail at a later date. Until i upload better pictures, it will be hard to see.

    Thank you once again.

    Best regards,

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

    God Bless

    TThomas,
I do almost like singer-songwriter style. I play acoustic guitar and sing, with piano, other guitars, and sometimes with bass and drums, percussion. I play my own songs and other songs in Japanese, but also play songs in English of Beatles, Eagles, James Taylor, Carol King, these stuff.
You can hear me singeing at myspace.
