The design

I like to draw out the full sized shape on paper. From this drawing I take my measurements and perform all the necessary calculations
Rectangle Font Art Parallel Pattern

Next, I decide on the pyrography design. This pattern was from a YouTube video by Ellen Walters.
I practice the design on paper to ensure I know how to draw it correctly.

Drawing the pattern

I did some math to determine how many pattern repetitions would fit and look good on this turning. The magic number was 26. I drew a gird pattern and then began drawing the pattern. I used some clear, flexible plastic as a ruler to help draw around the curvature. Drawing on a curved surface can be challenging.

Pyrography on flat surfaces can be challenging enough; I really admire the people that can do the curved and have it come out nice.

Starting the pyrography

With the pattern all drawn in pencil it is much easier to burn the lines.
I used a skew tipped pyrography pen. The straight edge on the pen tip helps burn a straight line.

It has a beautiful design and an elegant form.

More burning

The wood burning can be a slow and tedious process but the results are worth the effort in my opinion.

This will be the final post for this blog. I have a little more work to do on this pattern but will post in the projects section when it is completed.
WOW … GREAT JOB :<))
