A good deal of the tools I own are older than I. (02/59) Some are quite a bit older. Every cast iron table, the columns for the DP and the lathe were rusted enough to make a grown man cry. I have taken many long hours to restore the usefulness to all of the major machines. There's always another hand plane or chisel waiting for me when I decide it's time for another. I still haven't gotten around to my lathe yet, as far as gettin' her to go. But, I have at least stopped the bleeding and gave her a good coat of T-9.
My shop is/was a down and dirty throw together, a situation that has many drawbacks. New fixtures and especially jigs are a must at this point. My new found inspiration to get off my butt is right here among these pages.
